What To Expect When You Adopt!
When you adopt from Adopt A Rescued Friend, Inc, your new pet will have had a health check and have seen the vet at least 2 times. We provide age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter (as required by law), Microchip, Rabies vaccination and are free from parasites. This is all included in your adoption fee.
Puppies under 6 months old, may not be spay or neutered, but we will cover that cost for you at one of our approved veterinarians.
So, you and your family have agreed to add a new family member to your home! Congratulations! Have you researched the breed type? Not all dogs are alike.
Different breeds, have different needs – luckily, since we foster in our homes, we have a really good idea what our foster dogs are like, what they need, how they respond to new environments, if they have special requirements to be successful, etc. Our foster family can answer your questions and help guide you to the perfect pet for your family.
First step is to fill out an application below, Select the dog you are most interested in. Our group of volunteers will review your application and perform their magic. We do contact your landlord if you rent. We also talk to your Veterinarian to make sure that the other dogs in your home are healthy and that the dog/puppy you are interested in would be a good fit.
Next! You will receive a call, or an email from someone on our team to discuss your application. If all goes well, then you will talk to the foster and set up an appointment to meet your dog/puppy. If everyone in your family and the foster family are in agreement, then the adoption can go forward. And you take your new friend home with you!

Resources
Help us to continue our efforts to foster dogs safely. Maybe your Fido loves to explore on his own - in case he forgets to invite you, outfit him with a tryfi.com GPS collar. If he were to escape, as soon as he leaves the safe zone you’ve set around your home, you will be alerted so that you can track his whereabouts. You’ll also be able to see how many steps per day Fido takes to ensure he gets the right amount of exercise. Tryfi does wonders for the rescue community and helps us ensure none of the dogs in our care are always safe and easy to locate!
Ways To Help
There are many ways to help Adopt A Rescued Friend. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; therefore, monetary and in-kind donations are tax-deductible following Federal and State laws.
Be A Foster
The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we can save. We cover all necessary veterinary costs, provide a crate, leash, collar, tag, food dishes, and toys if needed. Transport Assistance
We always need help transporting dogs from foster homes to veterinary appointments.
Also safe transport to our out of state adopters. If you’re traveling and have a little extra room in your car and your heart, please consider adding a canine passenger.
